Hosting and Collaboration:
The symposium will be hosted by the Central Tuber Crops Research Institute (CTCRI) (see https://www.ctcri.org/) in collaboration with the Indian Society for Root Crops (ISRC), Kerala, India. The event is proudly supported by the Government of India, recognising India as a key global hub for root and tuber crops. CTCRI, a premier institute under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi, undertakes R&D activities in 15 tropical tuber crops.
About the Venue and Local Environment:
Thiruvananthapuram, also known as Trivandrum, is the capital and largest city of Kerala, built on seven hills along the west coast near India’s southern tip. November weather in the city is expected to be pleasant, with average daytime temperatures around 29°C and nights near 22°C. The city offers numerous enchanting tourist attractions, including Kerala’s famous backwaters, scenic canals, and houseboat experiences.

ISTRC symposia are internationally recognised platforms that bring together key stakeholders at national and international levels. This event provides an excellent opportunity for experts with an interest in tropical root and tuber crops to share their expertise, compare knowledge, and discuss how best to contribute to transforming global agri-food systems.
